Purchasing FAQ
Is the license per person or per device?
A Pro license is for one user and can be used on that person's own devices. Business is licensed per seat. The license agreement published at release sets the exact terms.
Does activation need a network connection?
Licensing and activation are still in development; the current development build has no activation. The design goal is activation and validation on your computer without a network connection; the license agreement and the network behavior statement published with the release are authoritative.
Can we deploy centrally on an internal network and turn off network features for everyone?
The current version has no automatic network activity: it connects only when someone clicks to download a language pack or uses cloud AI translation, and language packs can be downloaded on a connected computer and imported from file. An MSI package and central policy management are planned but not available yet; tell us through the For business page if you need them.
Can the risk-level restrictions be turned off in Business?
No. The restrictions on high-risk files such as certified copies and officially issued documents are a basic safety mechanism of the product and are not configurable.
Do you provide invoices and accept purchase orders?
How invoices and purchase orders work depends on the payment and invoicing arrangements, which will be stated here before purchasing opens. For a quote, contact us through the For business page.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Within 14 days of your first purchase of Pro, the perpetual license or Business, you can request a full refund without giving a reason. We still recommend checking your own files with the trial first.
What happens when an annual license expires? How is the perpetual license different?
An annual license can be renewed when it expires; if you do not renew, you stop using the software. A perpetual license is a one-time payment for permanent use of the version you bought, with 12 months of updates; after that you can choose to pay for an upgrade.
